One of my favorite things to do is to go outside with my son and toss the football around. The excitement in his eyes when he throws a great spiral is just phenomenal. I love to watch my children playing because it relieves so much stress. If only for a little while, I can sit back and forget about the stress and the everyday hassles of "adult life".
You know, God wants us to be like children with Him. He wants us to give Him all of our burdens and stress. He wants nothing more than for us as Christians to rely solely on Him and not have a worry in the world. However, we all know that would be nearly impossible because we all have obligations as adults. Obligations to our families, our jobs and to life in general which tend to get in the way of our relationships with God at times.
One thing I (we all) have to remember is that we have an obligation to God. Sure, all of the other obligations in our lives are important, but not nearly as important as the one we have to Our Creator. Maybe we should all take a little more time out of our hectic schedules to play and be more like children in God's eyes, what do you think?
